What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold through GetYourGuide and Viator. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides, drivers or photographers, or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with Tokyo Tower, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Japan National Tourism Organization, or any tour, car or boat company.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. A badge on a card is a measured claim: Top rated only on a tour rated 4.9 or higher, Best seller only on the tour with the most reviews, Best value only on the lowest fare that buys what the site is about. A platform's own badge is not shown.

Today Top rated sits on the Ueno taverns and ramen crawl, rated 4.9 from more reviews than any other tour at that rating. The most-reviewed listing is the sumo show in Ginza, which publishes no show times, so a Best seller badge on a site about the evening would mislead, and nothing carries one. The lowest fare is the Shinjuku walk with pachinko, whose game money is extra, so nothing is marked Best value either.

The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different evenings from three different starts: the Ueno crawl from Ueno Station, the car-meet drive that picks you up at your hotel, and the photography walk from Shinjuku Station's East Exit.

No tour here is listed twice under different names. Two car-meet operators each sell an early and a midnight run, and they are different companies with different prices and meeting points.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 28 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Every fare is quoted in US dollars, the currency the listings were captured in. Some are per person and some per group, and each price says which.

Some fares were on offer when the listings were captured, and the offer price is the one shown. Those offers end on 30 September or 10 October 2026, after which the fares rise; the listing always shows the current one.

Sunset times come from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan. Facts about Tokyo Tower come from its own website. Where a detail comes from a listing, such as a meeting point, a start time or what the fare covers, it belongs to that tour.

What we deliberately do not publish

• A night that is not one. The private full-day tour by car runs by day, and the sumo show and the go-karts print no times, so we never call them night tours. A 5pm or 5:30pm start begins in daylight for much of the year, and we say so.
• A start time a listing does not give. Where a listing prints no time, we print none, and we never give a "fully dark" time: the observatory table gives sunset only.
• Promises about the car meet. The Daikoku Parking Area is a public rest stop that police can close without notice, and no operator can promise which cars turn up. Drifting and racing are illegal on public roads and no tour includes them.
• Tours that do not exist. The searches ask for helicopter and bus night tours, and none is on offer here, so we list none. The go-kart convoy is not Mario Kart.
• Access claims either way. Some listings tick a wheelchair box on a sports-car drive or a night bar crawl. We print what an operator's own words support and ask you to check before you book.
• Dates no one has published. The Christmas-lights drive and the winter illuminations are seasonal, and where no date is published, we give none.
